Travel options

By Plane: Carcassonne’s 'Salvaza' Airport is only a 40-minute drive away and is served by regular Ryanair flights from London Stansted, Liverpool, East Midlands, Dublin and Shannon. Alternatively, Toulouse 'Blagnac' Airport is 1 hour away and is served by British Airways from Gatwick or via EasyJet with flights from London Gatwick and Bristol and via Flybe from Birmingham and Bristol. Air France also flies into Toulouse with connecting flights through Paris from several UK airports (London, Aberdeen, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle and Southampton). Toulouse has also been added to the schedules of Jet2.com, who fly from Edinburgh, Leeds, Bradford, Manchester and Belfast International Airports. Car hire is available at both Carcassonne and Toulouse airports.

By French Motorail: Load the car onto the sleeper train at Calais and travel down in comfortable private overnight accommodation to Toulouse or Narbonne.

By Road: Drive from the channel ports with an overnight stay en route to break the journey. Montengrand can be reached via Paris and then the A20 down to Toulouse or via the A71 and A75 to Béziers, which crosses the spectacular bridge at Millau.

By Rail: Take the Eurostar to either Paris or Lille and take the TGV to Toulouse. There is also a sleeper train from Paris to Carcassonne. Car hire is available at both stations.
